Laptop buying guide

K, so its time for many to get their Notebooks for Poly.
And i now my friends have no idea of what they should look for in a notebook.
so this is for you noobs(lol),

K, i will try to use simple terms so you guys will be able to understand.

Processor: Intel Centrino 2. ( The processor is the brain of your pc) K so Centrino 2 is by far the latest and fastest processor for Notebooks. For PC, Intel i7 is the fastest.
You should look for

Centrino 2, 2.26/2.4ghz should do fine. p8400 series.

Some shop may try to trick you into buying an older processor such as the dual core or core 2 duo p8400. Dont buy it.

Ram: Nowadays, 4gb is what most notebooks can take. I am running 4gb. So shops should give you a free upgrade to 4gb. Dont settle for anything less. Shops at Sim Lim usually provide a free upgrade to 4gb.

OS: Your running operating system should be Windows Vista. Eventhough Xp is actually better.

Graphic Card: K this is tricky. You should look for a notebook which is running a dedicated Graphic Card. If you dont play games, Integrated graphic cards should do just fine. but i believe everyone play games right? So look for for either a Nvidia or ATi Radeon Graphic Card.
Look for 256mb/512mb one. Ask the salesmen whether the notebook comes with a dedicated graphic card. If the graphic section says something like, up to blahblahblah. It means it is integrated. Get dedicated graphic cards.

HDD: Your hard disk should be at the very least 250gb.

Bonus Features: This is optional, but you may one to look for a notebook which comes with this features.

-Bluetooth
-in built Webcam
-Fingerprint Reader
-Tv Tuner
-Blu-ray dvd drive.
-Card Reader
-Remote Control
and such.

K recommended brands,
